PUEBLO, COLORADO – Minnequa Works Credit Union is proud to announce that one of our own, Vice President of Member Services, Pauline Montoya, has been recognized in receiving the prestigious Jefferson Award.
For over 50 years, the Jefferson Award has honored those who multiply good in communities across the nation. Award recipients have included national figures, both public and private, that represent good that is happening all around us. The award honors those who put others first and focuses on being able to empower them to do more while sharing their story and inspiring others to action.
Pauline has shown this representation of good in so many ways, both as a leader with Minnequa Works Credit Union, and beyond in her personal life and community. Pauline has been able to inspire others in a weight loss journey that has brought good to her and others. In her own words, Pauline was “Ready to take back health.” In addition to her inspirational weight loss, Pauline reached a level of personal health that allowed her to share life with her brother in the form of a kidney transplant earlier this year.
Pauline hopes that her story will help to inspire others. She wants to be “someone people feel they can reach out to and ask questions and hopefully allow those considering donating to learn more about it.”
At Minnequa Works, we are incredibly inspired each day by the service and teamwork that Pauline brings to the Credit Union and our Members, and we are excited to be able to cheer her on as she exemplifies doing good for others in recognition as a Jefferson Award Recipient.
“My journey saved both of our lives,” said Pauline. “I feel 20 years younger and my life has changed in so many positive ways. My intention is to share my experience and give hope to others.”
