Originally launched in 2024 with a focus on supporting food entrepreneurs and local culinary businesses, the Fueling Futures initiative has since grown into a broader community investment program. What began as a targeted effort to uplift food-based startups has evolved to “Fuel the Future” of a diverse range of organizations, including local merchants, service providers, and small business owners across multiple industries.
Since its inception, the program has awarded $45,000 in grant funding, empowering entrepreneurs and organizations to grow, innovate, and make a lasting impact in the community. This program reflects the vision of Minnequa Works to be the local difference, investing in the people, ideas, and businesses that define Southern Colorado.
Building on that success, Minnequa Works Credit Union will award up to $30,000 in grant funding in 2026, with individual grants of up to $2,000 available for small business owners and entrepreneurs throughout the region.
This initiative is designed to fuel growth, enhance sustainability, and strengthen the local economy, ensuring that businesses of all types have the opportunity to thrive.
