DENVER, COLORADO – GoWest Credit Union Association and Minnequa Works Credit Union took part in the recent Financial Inclusion Summit organized by BankOn Colorado on July 25th in Denver. The summit brought together financial institutions, community-based organizations, and government partners to foster collaboration and explore solutions for achieving financial health and inclusion for all residents.
Sharee Adkins, Chief Impact Officer & Foundation Executive Director with GoWest Credit Union Association, made a significant impact by participating in a thought-provoking panel discussion on “Partnerships for Financial Inclusion.” Adkins’s insights shed light on the pivotal role that partnerships play in creating an inclusive financial ecosystem and ways that GoWest are helping to support this initiative. Her perspective in forging meaningful alliances between credit unions and various stakeholders underscored the importance of collaboration in driving positive change.
On another panel held at the Summit, Nathan Cape, CEO from Minnequa Works Credit Union, took the stage to discuss “Banking Barriers for Economically Vulnerable Communities.” Cape’s engaging discourse focused on the critical need for financial institutions to be adaptive and responsive to the unique requirements of different communities. His contributions not only highlighted the challenges faced by economically vulnerable populations but also presented actionable solutions for fostering greater financial accessibility with member-focused products and services offered by Credit Unions.
